The first DCIS Hackathon proposed a challenge to be tackled during the DCIS’23 conference. All students attending the conference were encouraged to participate in the hackathon. The teams had to implement a system to measure the success of a session at the conference using a Nucleo STM32 board and several sensors and LEDs.

It was difficult to decide the winners. In the end, two teams got the prizes (150€ Amazon card). They were:
- Rubén Padial and M.C. Pardo, from Universidad de Granada, Spain.
- Víctor M. Bautista, Amadeo de Gracia Herranz, and Samuel López Asunción from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain.
